What is the IHI?

What is the difference between IHI and UTIHI?

The Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), an independent not-for-profit organization, is a leading innovator, convener, partner, and driver of results in health and health care improvement worldwide, with a mission to improve health and health care worldwide. Within IHI, the Open School engages a global learning community through online education, local Chapters, and guided improvement projects to advance the health care improvement and patient safety competencies in the next generation of health professionals. With approximately 600,000 students and residents engaged to date, the IHI Open School Chapter Network, of which UTIHI is a part, includes more than 900 Chapters in over 90 countries around the world.

UT IHI is a Chapter part of the larger IHI network and functions to represent the local UofT community.

Are Events Limited to UofT Students?

No! We offer several opportunities for all chapters to get involved. One example is our annual QuIPS Conference.
