IPE Seminars​
An Interprofessional Approach to Oncology Care

Still in need of some IPE credits? CAPSI, NCODA and UTIHI are excited to be offering an IPE event in the field of oncology this March!
This event will feature Kathy Vu, a clinical expert in oncology and health systems approach to delivering safe and high-quality care to cancer patients. Students will be provided an introduction to oncology, be exposed to interprofessional strategies for oncology assessment, management, and follow-up, and apply this to a case study. Students will grow an appreciation for the roles of various professions in oncology care and offer appropriate resources to oncology patients and family members.
This event is hosted by UofT CAPSI in collaboration with NCODA and UTIHI as a part of Pharmacy Appreciation Month (PAM). Event Registration opens Monday, March 1st!

Role of a Multidisciplinary Psychiatry Team on Increasing Medication Adherence and Safety during Transitions of Care

This interprofessional education (IPE) seminar will focus on the role an interprofessional psychiatry team, particularly involving a psychiatrist and pharmacist, plays in improving medication adherence and safety in transitions of care (acute care to/and from an outpatient setting).
The presenters are: Dr. Edred Flak (MD, FRCPC), a psychiatrist at Mount Sinai Hospital and professor at UofT Medicine, and Dr. Virginia Fernandes (PharmD, RPh), a clinical pharmacist at Mount Sinai and adjunct lecturer at UofT Pharmacy.
Both presenters have extensive experience working in interprofessional teams and this seminar will focus on how collaboration leads to improved medication experience and ultimately better health.
